He is currently undergoing active surveillance and has been advised to improve his lifestyle habits. His retirement was not solely due to his health, but also because he wanted to prioritize his family and personal life over the demands of his career. He decided to take a significant pay cut to work at his alma mater, St. Bonaventure, as the general manager of the men’s basketball program. Wojnarowski expressed that in the end, his family and close friends are what truly matter, and his impact in the sports world is temporary. ESPN has since hired Shams Charania as their new NBA insider, replacing Wojnarowski. Despite facing a cancer diagnosis, Wojnarowski remains focused on his health, family, and personal well-being.
