Jim Harbaugh of the Chargers is interested in bringing Colin Kaepernick on board as a coach, according to NBC Connecticut

Former NFL head coach Jim Harbaugh is reportedly interested in bringing Colin Kaepernick onto his coaching staff with the Los Angeles Chargers. The idea was discussed shortly after Harbaugh took on the head coaching role with the Chargers earlier this year, but talks have not progressed any further. Kaepernick, who has been out of the NFL since the 2016 season, has expressed a desire to return to the league as a player. Harbaugh believes Kaepernick would be a tremendous coach if he chose to take that path.

Kaepernick, who last played for the San Francisco 49ers, has met with teams in recent years but has not been signed. Despite hopes of returning to the NFL, Kaepernick has also expressed interest in playing in the inaugural Olympic flag football competition at the 2028 Los Angeles Games. Harbaugh and Kaepernick previously worked together during their time with the 49ers, leading the team to consecutive NFC Championship Games and a Super Bowl appearance.

There is no confirmation if Harbaugh is considering adding Kaepernick to the Chargers as a player, as he declined to comment on the matter. The two men have a history of success on the field and could potentially reunite in a new capacity with the Chargers. As Kaepernick explores his options for a return to football, his potential partnership with Harbaugh is one to watch for NFL fans.
