Raybin Hokim, a 49-year-old man from Hartford, recently faced a judge after being accused of fatally stabbing his father, Vincent Hokim, in his father’s car over the weekend outside a motel in Hartford. Family members described the victim as a loving husband and grandfather, and expressed their grief over the tragic incident. Raybin Hokim, who has lived in Hartford for 32 years but is currently homeless, has no prior criminal record but suffers from mental health issues.
During the arraignment, the judge found probable cause to charge Hokim with murder. According to the prosecutor, Hokim was arguing with his father when he stabbed him multiple times while the victim was wearing his seatbelt and unable to escape. The state believes that the blood found on Hokim at the scene belonged to the victim. Despite Hokim’s defense attorney’s argument for a lower bond, he is being held on a $2 million bond and is set to appear in court on February 19. The state contends that Hokim is dangerous based on the vicious nature of the attack.
