A 26-year-old man named Daniel Callahan was reported missing from East Windsor over the weekend, with his car found in the Connecticut River in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Callahan was last seen leaving a home in Chicopee on Saturday.
Authorities in Chicopee received a 911 call about a man in the river near Walter Street early Sunday, but were unable to locate anyone. An extensive search was conducted, revealing signs of a possible car crash at the end of Walter Street, leading investigators to find a vehicle submerged in the river matching Callahan’s license plate.
The Chicopee Police Department stated that while they cannot confirm if Callahan was driving the vehicle when it entered the river, the search for him is ongoing with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police. Callahan was described as wearing specific clothing and physical characteristics were provided for identification purposes.
