Grand Opening of The Building Complex in West Haven: A New Community Hub
WEST HAVEN, CT — The Building Complex, a new sports and entertainment venue owned by sisters Sylvia and Brina Yanez, celebrated its grand opening on June 5 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local officials and community members. The venue, situated on the former site of the Yanez family’s construction business, aims to serve as a multifunctional hub for celebration, fitness, and meaningful events.
Spanning 3,000 square feet, The Building Complex features both indoor and outdoor turf fields suitable for a wide range of sporting activities, including soccer and cornhole tournaments. Further showcasing its community-focus, the venue hosts glow-in-the-dark bingo nights and “Are You a True Westie” trivia sessions. During the opening event, attendees witnessed a Red Cross Blood Drive in progress, alongside a Youth Soccer Clinic, highlighting the venue’s versatile offerings.
“This has been a long time coming,” Brina Yanez stated, reflecting on the effort invested in transforming the space. “It took a lot of gravel, dirt, and hard work, but we are so happy to create a space the community can enjoy.”
Since its opening, The Building Complex has quickly established itself as a go-to venue, hosting various events such as the first West Haven Regional Home Show, birthday parties, Quinceañera celebrations, and numerous soccer and futsal tournaments. This dynamic venue is committed to fostering community engagement and providing a gathering place for residents.
