As the tragic impact of recent catastrophic flooding in Texas Hill Country becomes clearer, the confirmed death toll has reached at least 38 adults and 21 children, primarily in Kerr County. President Donald Trump announced a federal disaster declaration on X, emphasizing the profound tragedy affecting these families.

Prominent country music artist Miranda Lambert, who hails from East Texas, shared her grief in an Instagram video, announcing fundraising efforts to assist affected pet owners. The Dallas Cowboys expressed their condolences in an X post, committing $500,000 to the Salvation Army, alongside a broader initiative in collaboration with other NFL teams to provide $1.5 million for flood relief.

Maren Morris, another Texas native, remarked on Instagram about the devastation, while Shakira, in a heartfelt message before a concert in San Antonio, pledged to donate part of her concert proceeds to Catholic Charities of San Antonio, which is offering disaster relief.

The Dallas Stars and Mavericks also voiced their sorrow, with the Stars declaring their heartbreak and the Mavericks holding out hope for the safe return of missing campers. Texas Governor Greg Abbott declared Sunday a “Day of Prayer,” thanking first responders and encouraging adherence to local officials’ guidance amid the ongoing emergency.

As communities come together in response, the focus remains on supporting those affected and navigating the challenging days ahead.
