Heat Advisory for Connecticut: Sunday to Tuesday!

Weekly Weather Wrap-Up: A Beautiful End with an Approaching Heat Wave

As the week draws to a close, residents are treated to a lovely, albeit windy, day. While clouds will linger tonight, some showers may sweep through southern and western regions early Saturday morning, with the rest of the day expected to remain dry and breezy, featuring a pleasant mix of sun and clouds.

However, forecasters are sounding the alarm for an intense heat wave set to hit from Sunday to Wednesday, prompting an EXTREME HEAT WATCH for the entire state. Sunday will kick off with morning showers, but by the afternoon, expect sweltering temperatures climbing into the upper 80s and low 90s, feeling as hot as 100 degrees.

Monday and Tuesday are predicted to be particularly dangerous, with highs reaching the mid to upper 90s and heat indices soaring to between 100° and 110°. Forecasters urge everyone to prioritize safety, checking in on vulnerable populations and making use of cooling centers during this hazardous weather.

By midweek, slightly cooler readings are anticipated, with chances of afternoon thundershowers returning Thursday and Friday. Stay safe and hydrated as summer begins with a scorcher!
