Travelers Championship Pro-Am Draws Enthusiastic Crowd, Supports Local Charities
CROMWELL, CT – Golf enthusiasts flocked to TPC River Highlands on Wednesday for the Travelers Championship Pro-Am, an event that promises excitement and charity. Attendees like Jen Spreng from Mystic relished the opportunity to meet top players, including world number one Scottie Scheffler. “It’s a perfect day to meet them and grab a picture,” Spreng noted, highlighting the fun and support of the golf community.
This year, an impressive 45 of the top 50 players in the world will compete, with organizers anticipating around 200,000 spectators over the tournament days. Proceeds will benefit over 200 charities, notably The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Ashford, Connecticut. This camp provides children with life-threatening illnesses a place to enjoy a true camp experience, featuring activities like swimming, fishing, and ziplining.
Quinn Ostergren, a former camper who overcame brain cancer, shared her experiences at the camp, emphasizing its role in fostering community. “It’s a place where kids can go where they don’t feel like they’re an outsider,” she said. The Travelers Championship not only celebrates golf but also strengthens support for vital local charities.
