Mail Carrier Hospitalized After Pitbull Attack in Middletown
Middletown, CT – A mail carrier was hospitalized with multiple injuries after being attacked by a 5-year-old male Pitbull on Barbara Road Thursday afternoon. Authorities responded to the scene around 4:15 p.m. where they found the homeowner attempting to assist the injured mail carrier.
The victim, a man in his 40s, sustained bites on his thigh, wrist, forearm, lower abdomen, and back of his head. Despite the severity of the injuries, they are considered non-life-threatening.
According to police, the Pitbull managed to force open the storm door and launched the attack in the front yard of the residence. The dog has since been taken to an animal shelter for isolation and quarantine while the incident undergoes further investigation.
