Fire Destroys Auto Repair Shop in Stamford
Stamford, CT – A significant fire erupted at an auto repair shop on Dyke Lane Wednesday evening, drawing emergency responders around 5:30 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find flames and thick smoke pouring from the main garage door and windows of the single-story establishment.
The dense smoke created near-zero visibility in the surrounding neighborhood, prompting officials to call in additional crews. A second alarm was issued, allowing firefighters to intensify their efforts. Fortunately, the blaze was brought under control within 45 minutes, with the majority of the damage confined to the auto repair shop itself.
Although an adjacent building incurred minor damage, all safety measures were taken swiftly, leading to minimal risk to nearby structures. An employee was treated for a minor injury and transported to the hospital; however, no other injuries were reported.
