Rising Trend of Tattoo Removals Among Kashmir’s Youth Amidst Political Uncertainty

Others, like Arsalan, 19, express anxiety about being questioned or worse for their past affiliations, highlighting a growing trend: the removal of tattoos previously worn with pride.
Tattoos associated with political movements are being replaced by more innocuous designs. Clinics in Srinagar report a surge in removal sessions, quick to fill up due to rising fears and pressures surrounding job security and public perceptions. Many express their decisions as personal growth rather than shame, seeking to align their body art with their current values and faith.
