Tragic Crash Claims Life of New Haven Woman
In a heart-wrenching incident early Saturday morning, a 25-year-old woman from New Haven died following a collision with a tree after hitting a speed bump. The New Haven Police Department responded to the report around 1:50 a.m. at the intersection of Shelton Avenue and Gibbs Street, where they discovered the woman suffering from significant injuries.
Emergency responders transported her to Yale New Haven Hospital, but despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries. Her identity has not yet been disclosed as authorities continue to notify next of kin.
Preliminary investigations suggest the woman was traveling south on Shelton Avenue when she encountered a speed bump.
