Wells Enterprises, the maker of Blue Bunny and Halo Top ice cream, has initiated a voluntary recall of nearly 18,000 containers of ice cream and frozen yogurt due to concerns that some batches may contain pieces of plastic. This recall was issued on April 25 and was reported by the FDA. The affected products include 22 different flavors sold in three-gallon tubs and were distributed to over 100 centers across the U.S., specifically in Iowa, Michigan, Illinois, and Texas. The “Use by” dates for the recalled items range from March 2026 to October 2026.
The FDA has classified this recall as Class II, indicating that consuming the products could lead to temporary or medically reversible health issues. Wells Enterprises has not yet responded to requests from NBC News for additional information on the incident.
