Fire in West Hartford Leaves One Injured – NBC Connecticut

Press Release: West Hartford House Fire Leads to One Hospitalization

WEST HARTFORD, CT — One individual was hospitalized for burns following a fire at a single-family home on Fennbrook Road Thursday night. Firefighters responded shortly after 10:30 p.m. to find heavy smoke and flames emanating from the rear of the house.

While no residents were inside the home at the time of the incident, one adult sustained injuries while attempting to extinguish the fire. A West Hartford firefighter/paramedic provided initial treatment at the scene before the victim was transported to a local hospital. Fortunately, while the individual suffered burns, their condition is not deemed life-threatening.

The West Hartford fire marshal’s office is currently investigating the fire’s origin and cause. Fire crews remained on the scene until approximately 10:57 p.m. However, officials indicated that the severity of the fire, along with smoke and water damage, will likely render the house uninhabitable.

The Red Cross is stepping in to assist displaced residents. Fortunately, no additional injuries have been reported in connection with the incident. Further updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
