Man Arrested for Filming in Walmart Women’s Restroom
NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) — A 21-year-old man, Grayson S. Weir from Sprague, was arrested on Monday for allegedly using a recording device in the women’s restroom of a Walmart in Norwich. Store management alerted police around 11:15 a.m. after a patron reported suspicious activity involving a recording device.
Before law enforcement arrived, Weir left the store and fled in a vehicle. However, employees provided police with a detailed description of both the suspect and his car, enabling officers to locate him in Baltic shortly thereafter.
Weir has been charged with multiple offenses, including breach of peace, voyeurism, and risk of injury to a minor. He was subsequently released on a $100,000 bond.
The incident raises concerns about safety and privacy in public spaces, prompting calls for increased vigilance from both store management and patrons. Authorities continue to investigate the matter to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.
