ServiceLink Enhances EXOS Close Platform for Real-Time Scheduling and Remote Notarization
In a significant update, ServiceLink has introduced enhancements to its EXOS Close platform, revolutionizing the closing process for borrowers and lenders alike. The innovative features now allow users to schedule closings in real-time, offering expanded options for both online and in-branch appointments, as well as automatic eligibility checks for remote online notarization (RON).
The new system assesses, within the platform, whether borrowers qualify for RON based on state and county regulations. Upon lender approval, eligible borrowers can promptly schedule their closings online. “We’re proud to build on the legacy of EXOS Close with these new, user-friendly features that elevate the experience for both lenders and borrowers,” stated Dave Steinmetz, division president of origination services.
With a focus on convenience, the platform empowers borrowers to select the time, place, and method of their closing with just a tap, while helping lenders phase out outdated, technology-limited in-branch processes. It also prepares borrowers for their chosen closing type with integrated educational resources, ensuring a smoother experience.
In an industry-first move, the platform’s expansion includes options for lenders to arrange in-branch closings, thus enhancing flexibility in the closing process. These new features are anticipated to streamline home equity and refinance transactions, increasing transparency and efficiency.
Additionally, the automated RON eligibility check aims to promote broader acceptance of electronic signings. By embedding this functionality directly into EXOS Close, lenders can facilitate self-scheduling of remote closings where permitted.
EXOS Close, operational for eight years, allows borrowers to choose specific times and locations for their closings, connecting them with a nationwide network of notaries. The service also provides text message updates, keeping borrowers informed with details such as the notary’s contact information and arrival time.
