Press Release: Trio Arrested for Vehicle Theft Attempts in North Haven
NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A recent vehicle theft attempt led to the arrest of an adult and two teenagers in North Haven, according to local police. On Friday afternoon, officers received reports of several juveniles attempting to break into cars around 3:45 p.m. near Universal Drive, close to Friendly’s restaurant.
Authorities quickly located the suspects in proximity to Best Buy. During the pursuit, one suspect fled but was apprehended shortly thereafter, while two others were taken into custody without incident. Police recovered multiple screwdrivers, USB drives, and a stolen pocketbook linked to one of the burglarized vehicles.
The arrested individuals included two teenagers—aged 16 and 14—and 18-year-old Madison Robinson. All three face multiple charges, including criminal attempt to commit larceny of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, larceny, possession of burglary tools, and interfering with police.
The incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding youth crime and vehicle safety in the area, prompting local authorities to remain vigilant and responsive to similar reports in the future. Further investigations are underway as police continue to monitor the situation.
