Apple’s Siri Settlement: Eligible Customers Can Now Claim Their Share
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Customers who feel they may have been spied on by Apple’s voice assistant, Siri, have an opportunity to benefit from a $95 million class-action settlement. This settlement stems from a 2019 lawsuit alleging that Apple violated user privacy by recording conversations without consent and sharing those recordings with third-party contractors for quality control purposes.
Eligible users can submit claims until July 2, 2025, with options to apply for payouts for up to five Siri-enabled devices. To qualify, applicants must attest that Siri was activated without their knowledge between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024.
Payouts are limited to $20 per device, with a maximum total of $100 for those whose claims are approved. Interested parties can easily file their applications online, ensuring potentially affected users have a straightforward path to reclaim their share of the settlement.
