NEW LONDON, CT — Nicholas Spellman, a 25-year-old from Wilbraham, Massachusetts, is facing a three-year prison sentence for multiple felony charges related to voyeurism and child pornography, as reported by The Day of New London.
Spellman pleaded guilty to second-degree possession of child pornography and two counts of voyeurism. His legal troubles began in 2020 when he was charged with voyeurism after allegedly using a hidden camera to film women in a dormitory bathroom at Connecticut College in New London, where he was a student at the time. The situation escalated in 2022 when he was accused of placing a recording device in the women’s bathroom at an East Lyme private beach club where he worked.
Law enforcement conducted extensive interviews with victims and witnesses across multiple states, identifying 13 individuals who were unknowingly recorded by Spellman. The disturbing nature of these crimes has raised significant concerns about privacy and safety in public spaces.
