Authorities in Plainville are on the lookout for a man who was caught on surveillance footage stealing a woman’s purse and driving off in a stolen vehicle. The incident took place at Lowe’s on New Britain Avenue around 7:45 a.m. The man allegedly approached the woman while she was loading her car and took her purse from a shopping cart. Despite the woman’s attempts to stop him, she was pushed away. The man then fled in a dark gray 2008 BMW 328i with Massachusetts registration 3MPD23, which was reported stolen from Hartford.
The suspect is described as young, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and face covering. Fortunately, the woman was unharmed during the theft. Authorities are urging anyone with information on the incident to come forward and contact the police department.
