SCSU Softball Suffers Two Losses at Pace


The Southern Connecticut softball team suffered two losses against Pace on Saturday, April 19. The Owls are now 13-16 overall and 2-9 in the Northeast-10, while Pace boasts a record of 32-8 overall and an undefeated 16-0 in the conference. In the first game, the Owls managed just two hits against Pace’s pitcher Giselle Garcia, with Kate Nickerson taking the loss on the mound. The Setters scored three runs to secure the win. In the second game, Izzy Ingersoll stood out with a 3-for-4 performance, but the Owls fell short in extra innings. Ashley Lewis pitched seven strong innings, but the Setters walked it off in the eighth. Despite opportunities in the eighth inning, Southern Connecticut could not capitalize on their hits and were unable to score. The Owls will have the chance to bounce back in a doubleheader against Bentley at home on April 21.
