The UConn softball team is gearing up for an exciting three-game series with the DePaul Blue Demons this weekend in Chicago. Coming off a three-game winning streak and with a strong performance in April, the Huskies are currently in second place in the BIG EAST standings. Led by a powerful offense that has scored 79 runs in eight games, UConn looks to continue their success against DePaul.
Junior catcher Grace Jenkins has been a standout player for the Huskies, with six home runs, 6 doubles, and 16 RBI in April. Outfielders Lexi Hastings and Kaitlyn Breslin have also made significant contributions to the team’s offensive success. The series will kick off on Friday with a doubleheader and conclude on Saturday, all three games to be streamed on FloSports.
DePaul, currently 14-24, will be looking to bounce back from a recent win over UIC after a seven-game losing streak. Coached by Liz Bouck-Jagielski in her first season, the Blue Demons will be eager to put up a fight against UConn. Last season, UConn swept DePaul in the season series, but DePaul holds the all-time series lead at 17-14.
