NBC Connecticut features biological mother and sister sharing their story


After a man alleged that he was held captive by his stepmother for 20 years, NBC Connecticut interviewed his biological mother and half-sister. Tracy Vallerand and Heather Tessman spoke about the shocking allegations that have received national attention. Vallerand, who gave up custody of her son shortly after his birth in 1993, revealed her struggles with mental health and a difficult custody battle that eventually led to her son living with his father and stepmother.
