Person injured after firearm discharged during scuffle in Plainfield


A man in Plainfield, Connecticut is recovering after a gunshot wound to the forearm following an altercation that lead to a weapon being discharged. Plainfield police responded to a disturbance at 10 Black Hill Rd. after a 911 call reported multiple people breaking things inside the home late Friday night. When officers arrived, they found two males, one of whom had been shot. The victim, a 33-year-old man, was taken to William W. Backus Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Further investigation revealed that the shooting occurred during an altercation, resulting in the gun being fired. State police also joined the search with a K9 unit, eventually finding a male hiding in the woods behind the residence. The incident is considered isolated, with police asking for anyone with information to contact the Special Investigations Unit. Updates will be provided by News 8 as the situation develops.
