Kelsey Lowell, a resident of Canton, Connecticut, found solace and purpose in baking sourdough bread after experiencing life-threatening complications during the births of her two daughters. Following a difficult time in the NICU and in intensive care, Lowell decided to prioritize her health and passion for baking by launching Kenmont Bread & Blooms, a home-based business that specializes in various baked goods.
Working from a small kitchen in her basement, Lowell creates bread, cookies, scones, and muffins, all while raising her daughters. She sells her products from a kiosk in front of her historic home, Kenmont, which has been in her husband’s family for generations. Lowell is proud to have a woman-owned business that not only provides for her family but also brings joy to the community of Canton.
Despite her challenging experiences, Lowell encourages other mothers to find happiness and spend time with loved ones. The kiosk in Canton is open on weekends, with Lowell planning to sell flowers in addition to her baked goods in the upcoming spring season. Her story serves as an inspiration to others to find fulfillment in their passions and cherish the moments of joy in life.
