Armand Membou and Jared Wilson shone during the NFL scouting combine with impressive performances in Indianapolis. Wilson, a center from Georgia, made history by running the 40-yard dash in 4.84 seconds, becoming only the second 300-pound lineman to do so. Membou, an offensive tackle from Missouri, also stood out with top-notch stats, including a 4.91-second 40-time, a 9-foot, 7-inch broad jump, and a 34-inch vertical jump.
Other standout performances included Will Campbell, a tackle from LSU, who tied with Membou for second in the broad jump, and Grey Zabel, a tackle from North Dakota State, who had the best vertical jump.
In the running back category, Donovan Edwards of Michigan and Jarquez Hunter of Auburn led with the most reps on the bench press, while Jaylin Noel of Iowa State and Jack Bech of TCU dominated the receiver group.
Quarterbacks, however, opted out of the bench press testing, choosing to showcase their skills in other ways. The week’s final workout on Monday will see offensive linemen take on the bench press challenge.
Membou and Campbell are among the top contenders to be selected as the first offensive lineman in April’s draft, with their impressive showings at the combine boosting their chances. Fans and analysts alike are eagerly anticipating their next moves as they continue to impress on the path to the NFL draft.
