West Hartford police have arrested Taffarie Murphy, 43, of Bloomfield in connection with a shots fired incident that occurred on February 20 on New Park Avenue. Despite evidence of gunfire and damage to a building, no injuries were reported. Murphy faces charges of unlawful discharge of a firearm, reckless endangerment in the first degree, criminal possession of a firearm, and criminal mischief in the first degree. Unable to post his $700,000 bond, he is scheduled to appear in court on March 3. The incident caused New Park Avenue to be temporarily closed, but has since reopened. Residents of West Hartford can rest assured that the suspect has been apprehended and will be facing justice for his actions.
