West Hartford police have arrested Taffarie Murphy, 43, of Bloomfield in connection with a shots fired incident that occurred on February 20 on New Park Avenue. Despite evidence of gunfire and damage to a building, no injuries were reported. Murphy faces charges of unlawful discharge of a firearm, reckless endangerment in the first degree, criminal possession of a firearm, and criminal mischief in the first degree. Unable to post his $700,000 bond, he is scheduled to appear in court on March 3. The incident caused New Park Avenue to be temporarily closed, but has since reopened.
