Buffalo Trace whiskey distillery’s office engulfed by Kentucky River due to mudslide

A cargo container and makeshift office for the long-standing Buffalo Trace Distillery in Kentucky slid into the Kentucky River due to heavy rains and flooding caused by a mudslide on Monday. Fortunately, no employees were near the area at the time, and the affected property has been secured for safety. The distillery, with roots dating back to 1771, has faced and overcome various challenges over the centuries, including floods, fires, tornadoes, and even Prohibition. Despite the mudslide, production and tours at the distillery continue without interruption. However, recent winter weather-related incidents in Kentucky have led to the tragic deaths of at least 22 people, according to Governor Andy Beshear. Buffalo Trace Distillery, known for producing a variety of whiskey brands, will work closely with professionals to clean up the affected area and ensure the safety of its operations.
