The Junior League of Albany recently hosted an event called “Kids in the Kitchen” at the Albany Mall. The event aimed to educate children and parents about making healthy lifestyle choices. Various stations were set up throughout the mall, including a cooking class for making nutritious snacks, a station promoting body positivity and the importance of exercise, and a gardening station where children could learn how to plant vegetable seeds.
Organizer Cat Saunders emphasized the importance of supporting youth in making good choices regarding their health. Parents who attended the event expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate in a unique and beneficial event that catered to families in the area. The event was well received, with many attendees pleased to see the mall bustling with activity.
Due to the success of “Kids in the Kitchen,” the Junior League of Albany plans to host similar events in the future. The organization values the community’s feedback and looks forward to providing more opportunities for families to learn about and engage in healthy activities together.
