Huskies make a strong comeback and defeat No. 12 Boston University


The UConn women’s hockey team defeated the 12th ranked Boston University Terriers with a score of 4-1 at the Toscano Family Ice Forum. Senior goaltender Megan Warrener made 24 saves, securing her eighth win of the season. Freshman forward Sadie Hotles scored two goals, while sophomore forward Martha Mobarak and graduate student forward Jada Habisch each added a goal to bring the final score to 4-1. This win marked the 13th time this season that UConn held their opponents to one goal or less.

With this victory, UConn will play for the Hockey East regular season title in their upcoming game against Boston University on February 22 at 4:00 PM at Walter Brown Arena. The game will be televised on NESN. Hotles’ performance in this game marked her first career multi-goal game, bringing her season points total to five. Mobarak also contributed to the win with her second goal of the season, while Habisch scored her 13th goal of the season and her seventh goal in the last seven games.

The Huskies dominated the game, outshooting the Terriers in both the first and second periods. UConn’s strong defensive effort limited Boston University to just one power-play goal in the third period. With this win, the UConn women’s hockey team looks poised to close out their regular season on a high note as they aim for the Hockey East regular season title.
