George Clooney joins the ranks of celebrity farmers with his new French property

George Clooney has recently joined the growing list of celebrities who are embracing farm life, with a property in France being his main residence. In an interview with The New York Times, Clooney shared that despite growing up in Kentucky and wanting to get away from farm life, he now sees it as his best chance at a normal life and even drives a tractor on his property.

Other celebrities who have also taken up farming include Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, who have a ranch in Oklahoma where they grow produce on a large scale and got married in a backyard chapel on the property. Actor Chris Pratt raises chickens and cows on his farm in Washington with his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger.

Oprah Winfrey owns a 16-acre farm in Hawaii where she grows a variety of vegetables, producing 145 pounds of food every week according to a 2013 blog post. Martha Stewart has a 150-acre property north of New York City where she raises chickens, at one point having up to 200 on her property.

Despite his new farming lifestyle, Clooney is preparing for his upcoming role on Broadway which will require him to cover up his signature salt and pepper hair. He is already anticipating laughter from his children with his new look.

With more and more celebrities turning to farm life, it seems that getting away from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood is becoming a popular choice among the stars.
