Minors apprehended with guns and stolen car in New Haven


New Haven teenagers arrested after stolen vehicle crash and attempting to flee from police. The two 16-year-olds were charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, interfering with police, and weapon in a motor vehicle. The incident occurred when law enforcement saw a stolen black Volkswagen Atlas driving recklessly in the Hill neighborhood. Officers tracked the vehicle to Fair Haven, where they used stop sticks to deflate the tire and eventually caused a collision with another vehicle at Front Street. The occupants of the second vehicle suffered minor injuries. After the crash, multiple males were seen running from the Volkswagen, but two were apprehended. Police found a handgun near one of the suspects and another handgun in the stolen vehicle. The teenagers have been sent to a juvenile facility in Bridgeport. This incident adds to the decreasing serious crime rates in Connecticut, showing the effectiveness of law enforcement efforts in the area.
