Connecticut Reveals First Round Playoff Matchups for 2024


The 2024 Connecticut high school football playoffs kicked off with the quarterfinal round on Tuesday night, with the winners moving on to the state semifinals on Saturday. In Class LL, Fairfield Prep faced off against Kennedy, while Staples took on Manchester, Greenwich played against New Britain, and Glastonbury squared off against West Haven. In Class L, Naugatuck battled Notre Dame (West Haven), New Canaan competed against Maloney, Newtown faced Amity, and Darien played Fairfield Ludlowe. The matchups in Class MM included Windsor against Northwest United, Bristol Central against Bunnell, Torrington against Masuk, and Newington against Wethersfield.
In Class M, top-seeded Daniel Hand played against New London, while Brookfield faced Jonathan Law, Rockville against Berlin, and St. Joseph against Watertown. The Class SS matchups featured Killingly against Ellington, Windham against Ledyard, Sheehan against Granby/Canton, and Bullard Havens Tech against Waterford. In Class S, Capital Prep took on Waterbury Career Academy, Ansonia played Valley Regional/Old Lyme, Cromwell-Portland faced Woodland, and East Catholic played Bloomfield.
