Waterbury police detective shot in the thigh while investigating attempted carjackings. Three suspects arrested and due in court. Detective R.J. Reid and Rodriguez charged with robbery, larceny, and weapon possession. All suspects face high bail amounts. Waterbury police worked with other departments to apprehend suspects involved in carjackings. Thanks to collaborative efforts, all three suspects were apprehended quickly after incident. Sackett was bravely shot while pursuing suspects and will continue to recover at Waterbury Hospital. Police continue to investigate the incident and ensure justice is served.
