A missing plane with 10 people on board was found crashed in Alaska, with no survivors believed to be inside. The wreckage of the Bering Air Cessna Caravan was located 34 miles southeast of Nome, with three people found dead inside. The other seven passengers are believed to be inside the aircraft but are inaccessible due to the condition of the plane. The flight took off from Unalakleet and was headed to Nome, but experienced a rapid loss in elevation and speed before crashing. Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy expressed his condolences and said prayers were with the passengers and their loved ones. The Nome Volunteer Fire Department and Alaska National Guard were involved in the recovery efforts. The remote locations of Nome and Unalakleet mean that air and water transportation is vital for travel between the two areas.
