The City of New Haven is set to join a lawsuit against the Trump administration over executive orders targeting sanctuary cities. Led by San Francisco and Santa Clara County, the lawsuit aims to challenge actions that harm cities with welcoming and sanctuary city policies. Other jurisdictions, including King County, Washington, and the City of Portland, Oregon, are also expected to join the lawsuit in the coming days and weeks. The lawsuit will be filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. Mayor Justin Elicker will formally announce New Haven’s participation in the lawsuit at a press conference. Connecticut leaders have also responded to the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement actions. News 8 will be livestreaming the press conference.
