Police: Man sustains serious injuries after being struck by school bus in Waterbury, according to NBC Connecticut


A 73-year-old man was seriously injured after being struck by a school bus in Waterbury on Wednesday morning, according to police reports. The incident occurred at the intersection of Harpers Ferry Road and East Main Street around 8:23 a.m. The victim was quickly taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Fortunately, the five students on the bus, as well as the driver, were not harmed in the accident. As a result of the collision, the road has been temporarily closed and motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.

The Waterbury Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident but has not released any further details at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured man and his family as they navigate this difficult time.
