After a basketball game, Holy Cross student makes miraculous recovery from cardiac arrest – NBC Connecticut

Holy Cross High School student, Tylon Lott, had a miraculous recovery after going into cardiac arrest following a basketball game in January. The 16-year-old collapsed in the locker room and was saved by nurses and a firefighter who used an AED and performed CPR. Lott spent a week in the ICU but made a full recovery, although doctors are unsure of the cause of the incident. He is sitting out the rest of the basketball season but is back to shooting hoops in practice. The experience has brought the basketball team closer together, and the Lott family is now partnering with the Greater Waterbury YMCA to provide free heart screenings for children and young adults. The event, called “A Lott At Heart,” aims to raise awareness about potential heart conditions in young people. Despite the scare, Tylon remains positive and grateful, urging others to appreciate each day and stay positive. The event will take place on Feb. 27 at the Greater Waterbury YMCA.
