According to an AP source, Alyssa Thomas Traded from the Sun to the Mercury – NBC Connecticut报道

The Phoenix Mercury have finalized a trade deal to acquire Alyssa Thomas from the Connecticut Sun, according to an anonymous source familiar with the transaction. In addition to Thomas, the Sun will also send Ty Harris to Phoenix, while in return, Connecticut will receive Natasha Cloud, Rebecca Allen, and the No. 12 pick in the upcoming draft. The deal, which is a sign-and-trade, cannot be officially completed until February 1.

Thomas, who has spent her entire career with Connecticut, is a two-time WNBA Finals participant and won an Olympic gold medal last summer. She will be joining Phoenix as they navigate a potential transition period with the uncertainty surrounding the playing future of both Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi.

The trade also involves Cloud, who signed with Phoenix last year and will now head back to the East Coast after spending earlier years in Washington. In addition, Allen, who played for Connecticut in 2023 before being traded to Phoenix, will be returning to the Sun.

This deal comes on the heels of another major trade in the WNBA involving Las Vegas, Seattle, and Los Angeles. Kelsey Plum is headed to the Sparks, Jewell Loyd to the Aces, and the No. 2 draft pick to the Storm.

The Mercury’s acquisition of Thomas adds a dynamic playmaker to their roster as they prepare for the upcoming WNBA season.
