Connecticut Man Killed in Route 684 Crash in Southeast
A tragic accident on Route 684 in Southeast resulted in the death of 65-year-old Michael Keller of New Milford, Connecticut. The incident occurred when a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Makayla McIntyre of Mount Vernon lost control, struck a guiderail, and then veered across all lanes of travel, ultimately colliding with Keller’s car. Both vehicles ended up off the roadway, overturned, and came to rest in the center embankment of the interstate.
McIntyre sustained minor injuries and was taken to Danbury Hospital, while Keller was pronounced dead at the scene. The Brewster Fire Department assisted State Police during the investigation, which caused traffic on Route 684 to be backed up for hours. The crash happened just south of the I-84 interchange around 7:15 a.m. on Sunday morning.
The State Police Public Information Specialist Marissa Edwards provided details of the tragic incident, highlighting the need for caution and safe driving practices on the roads to prevent such accidents from occurring in the future.
