Auburn remains the unanimous number one in the AP Top 25 men’s college basketball poll after a thrilling victory over Tennessee. The Tigers have won four of their last six games in the last possession, showcasing their ability to come out on top in close games. Coach Bruce Pearl praised his team’s performance, especially after welcoming back All-American forward Johnni Broome from an ankle injury.
In other rankings, Houston climbed to No. 6 following a double-overtime win over Kansas, while Michigan State moved up to No. 7. Tennessee dropped to No. 8 after their close loss to Auburn. Kansas, Kentucky, and Texas A&M also experienced shifts in the rankings due to wins and losses.
St. John’s and Memphis were the biggest climbers in the poll, rising five spots each. Texas Tech and Vanderbilt made their debut in the Top 25, replacing Michigan and West Virginia. The SEC continues to have a strong presence in the rankings, with three teams in the top five and a total of 10 teams in the Top 25.
