The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office has announced that musician Marilyn Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, will not face any sexual assault or domestic violence charges following a four-year investigation. Multiple women, including former girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood, had accused Manson of abuse, leading to the investigation. Prosecutors from the sex crimes division of the district attorney’s office and detectives from the sheriff’s department conducted the investigation but could not bring charges against Manson due to the statute of limitations and lack of evidence to prove sexual assault allegations beyond a reasonable doubt. The district attorney’s office commended the courage of the women who spoke up and acknowledged the awareness they raised on domestic abuse and sexual assault challenges. Manson, who denied any wrongdoing, did not immediately comment on the decision. In recent years, Manson has faced numerous allegations of abuse, including those made by Wood in 2021, resulting in a defamation lawsuit filed by Manson against her. Another accuser, “Game of Thrones” actor Esmé Bianco, settled her claims against Manson in 2023 to move on with her life. Other allegations of sexual exploitation and assault by Manson were also dismissed. Despite the lack of charges, the district attorney’s office remains committed to seeking justice for survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault.
