State Representative Rebecca Martinez from Farmington, Plainville, and Southington is making it her priority to address the low-frequency noise coming from the Reworld facility in Bristol. The noise has been bothering residents for some time, and Martinez herself has experienced it at her home.
Martinez has introduced a bill to establish new noise standards for industrial low-frequency noise pollution in the state, as current regulations do not address this specific issue. A spokesperson for Reworld has stated that they have made improvements to reduce noise at the facility and are committed to working with the community and officials to address concerns.
The bill has not yet been reviewed by a legislative committee, but NBC CT Responds will provide updates as the situation progresses. Residents hope that Martinez’s efforts will lead to a resolution to the ongoing noise problem coming from the Reworld facility.
