UConn Athletics Division Reports Increased Self-Generated Revenue and Economic Impact in FY24

The UConn Division of Athletics has released its financial report for the fiscal year 2023-24, showing a significant $7.6 million increase in self-generated revenue. Total revenues reached $105.6 million, with 59.4% being self-generated, marking a substantial improvement from previous years.

In addition to financial success, UConn Athletics made a significant contribution to the state’s economy, with an estimated impact of over $242.7 million through events and annual operating activities. Student-athletes achieved academic success as well, with a record graduation success rate of 92% and impressive GPAs, including 82 student-athletes earning a perfect 4.0.

Athletic achievements in FY24 included winning the sixth NCAA Championship in men’s basketball and securing 11 conference championships. UConn also received the BIG EAST President’s Award for excelling in academics, athletics, and citizenship. Both the men’s and women’s programs ranked in the top-25 in the Capital One Cup final standings, showcasing the department’s overall success.

Despite the challenges of the past year, UConn Athletics was able to increase its self-generated revenues and make a positive impact on the state’s economy while achieving outstanding academic and athletic success. The department’s ability to generate revenue, combined with support from the university, has allowed UConn Athletics to thrive and continue to excel in all aspects of its operations.
