UConn to Host Xavier in Hartford on Wednesday

The seventh-ranked UConn women’s basketball team (13-2, 4-0 BIG EAST) is set to take on Xavier on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the XL Center. UConn will be celebrating Pride Night to honor the LGBTQ+ community, with special activities planned for the event. The Huskies are dominating the BIG EAST conference in various statistical categories and are looking to extend their winning streak with a victory over Xavier.

In their previous game against Villanova, UConn showcased their offensive prowess with a convincing 83-52 win. Freshman Sarah Strong led the team with 21 points, with contributions from redshirt senior Paige Bueckers and sophomore KK Arnold. UConn holds a perfect 8-0 record against Xavier and will be looking to add another win to their record.

Xavier, on the other hand, is coming off a loss to DePaul and will be looking to bounce back against the powerful UConn team. Head coach Billi Chambers is in her second season with Xavier, and the team will be led by Meri Kanerva with an average of 11.2 points per game.

Fans can catch the game on SNY and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield, with streaming options available for in-market and out-of-market viewers. UConn’s dominance in the conference and their commitment to celebrating Pride Night make this matchup against Xavier an exciting event for basketball fans.
