A 17-year-old boy from Groton is facing multiple charges in connection with a crash that occurred in October, resulting in the death of a 14-year-old boy in Mystic. Carson Wilson, a ninth-grade student at St. Bernard School, tragically lost his life in the crash. The incident occurred when the vehicle the teens were in went off the road, into the woods, and hit a tree. The driver, who was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and speeding at the time, has been charged with second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle, misconduct with a motor vehicle, among other charges. The crash resulted in serious injuries to three other passengers who were also in the vehicle. The Groton Police Department continues to investigate the incident and is asking for anyone with information to come forward. This tragic event serves as a reminder of the importance of safe driving practices and the dangers of driving under the influence.
