GTIA Unveils New Name and Shifts Focus Exclusively to IT Channel

The Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA), formerly known as the CompTIA Community, announced its new name and exclusive focus serving IT channel organizations and professionals. The renaming comes after the sale of the CompTIA brand and for-profit business activities, allowing GTIA to continue its mission of supporting the IT industry. GTIA is a non-profit membership community connecting worldwide IT channel professionals and representing over 2,000 companies globally. With a focus on delivering benefits for members and shaping the industry’s future, GTIA will be led by existing board members and executives, with a search ongoing for a CEO.

The creation of a substantial endowment from the sale of the CompTIA brand will cover GTIA’s operating costs indefinitely, keeping membership dues affordable and benefits consistent. This includes global events like ChannelCon and charitable giving opportunities to organizations in the technology sector. GTIA’s leadership team, including Chief Operating Officer Kelly Ricker and Chief Community Officer MJ Shoer, is excited to begin this new chapter focused on supporting the IT channel and driving local impact with a global perspective.

The Global Technology Industry Association sets industry standards and provides resources and networking opportunities for IT channel professionals worldwide. With a broad, inclusive approach to supporting organizations in the technology sector, GTIA is dedicated to helping companies build sustainable, secure, and profitable businesses in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
