A tragic incident unfolded at the Travel Inn Motel in Hartford over the weekend as Raybin Hokim allegedly stabbed his father, Vincent Hokim, to death. Police responded to a 911 call reporting a fight in a parked car, where they found Raybin covered in blood, holding a weapon, and his father with multiple stab wounds.
During the court appearance, Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney Alexandra Arroyo described the attack as vicious and argued that Raybin posed a danger to the community. Despite a plea from the suspect’s public defender, who highlighted Raybin’s mental health issues, the judge set bond at $2 million.
The victim’s family members were present at the hearing, visibly distraught and unable to comprehend the tragedy. Vincent Hokim was remembered as a kind and loving grandfather by his relatives, who declined to speak to the press as they still come to terms with their loss.
Raybin Hokim’s next court date is scheduled for February 19th, leaving both families and the community in shock and mourning the loss of a beloved family member.
