Firefighters in Southington came to the rescue of a driver on Sunday night after their vehicle was left hanging over a bridge above the Quinnipiac River. Responding to the scene of West Street and West Main Street at 10:41 p.m., firefighters and police found the vehicle in a precarious position. Thankfully, they were able to secure the vehicle and extract the driver who remained conscious and alert throughout the ordeal. Despite suffering only minor injuries, the driver was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. The quick and efficient response from emergency services helped prevent a potentially dangerous situation from escalating.
