New Year’s Eve is set to be a festive celebration in both Hartford and New Haven with First Night events planned in both cities. In Hartford, Mayor Arulan Arulampalam spoke about the family-friendly and free activities taking place, including fireworks shows, kids programs, musical performances, karaoke, comedy, and ice skating. The ice rink is being prepared for the big night with skate rentals also available. In New Haven, Mayor Justin Elickor announced a carousel, giant slide, live music, and food trucks will be part of their First Night festivities on the town green. Both events start at 2 p.m with New Haven ending at 7 p.m and Hartford continuing through midnight. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to beat the lines and enjoy the various activities being offered. Families from far and wide are looking forward to making new memories as they ring in the new year in style.
